I'm an aspiring data scientist with 7 years of experience in financial technology, and though my career is still relatively young, I've already spent a great deal of time working with a variety of different types of data to achieve a wide array of desired solutions. Whether it be back-testing new investment theses on historical market returns, breaking down commissions or PnL by sector/trader, or querying CRM-related data to understand how sales staff can best use their time, I've seen firsthand the importance of data, the insights that we can extract from it, and the value that those insights can deliver to a firm's bottom line.

Interests

Apart from being an aspiring data scientist, in my spare time I love to play the guitar and ukelele. I also enjoy reading, running, rock climbing, playing video games, and watching sports.

I'd like to think I'm a fun-loving, personable guy. I'm very intellectually curious and love learning about a variety of subjects. I like to find new ways to challenge myself and am always looking to gain new perspective on life. To that end, I believe data, and the analysis we can draw from it, can and will drive significant change in the world for the foreseeable future. I'm really excited about the prospect of getting to switch gears in my career and learn as much as I can about data science!
